obviously we couldnt take care of it so we had to give it to a bystander but just. idk. the fact that somebody would do that. the fact that we were the only ones who cared enough to try and help. the fact that we had to hand it off to some lady who just watched us dodge cars from the sidewalk. idk
thinking about that night i (homeless) was walking down the street with a buddy (also homeless) and somebody threw a kitten out of a moving car and everybody else on the street just watched us run back and forth trying to catch it before it got hit. something something two unwanteds saving another

i get the replies expressing frustration that this has been well known to people who live in the deep south since desegregation but we NEED published studies and reports like this to enact change. nobody in power can get anything done based on ppls lived experience, its all about facts & figures
