Goodness #Conclave
was incredible & exquisitely done.

The ending…for those of us with a historical nose it really comes out of left field.

@iamralphfiennes.bsky.social does a phenomenal job as does @tuccistanley.bsky.social and the rest of the cast.

But that ending. I’m thinking on it.

Well, @drmoore.bsky.social, is it true?

Did your training SBTS include a stop over at the Farm in McLean?

More importantly, can you kill us all with just a look?

Do you take your lemonade shaken but not stirred?

We need to know the truth…😂

This is a great summary of two solid research projects on executive leadership Harvard and Stanford.

Lots of takeaways:

Staff burnout observation:

Most people don’t burnout from working at the top of their job description, they burnout from doing below scope work.

They tend to get burned out doing things outside their passion.

Raise the level of work up to 75%+ of top of description & burnout rates improve.

One of my regular practices in grading graduate papers is to run the articles I don’t recognize through citation checkers.

I’ve consistently found fake articles, the kind AI produces, on a regular basis.

This is at evangelical institutions where the students are producing faith based assignments.

Shocked, I tell you, shocked that there is complete silence from evangelical leaders about the Matt Gaetz scandal.

Moral leadership begins with course and discernment.

Evangelicals have capitulated their voice by selectively ignoring failures over the past 8 years.

Just a quick epistemological point for those interested…

The West has yet to emerge into postmodernism and is still grappling with the last vestiges of the modern project.

There is no way we have become “meta-modern.” Hyper-modern maybe but only as an extension of modernism.

When I read most evangelicals’ thoughts on postmodernism, I’m often struck by how they seem to completely misunderstand postmodernism.

Some get it but most don’t understand.

This goes for deconstructionism too.

More evidence that #ChatGPT is flawed and still developing.

In a Facebook group I follow, someone asked for books about horses in a future setting.

Someone replied with a ChatGPT search that returned all fake books except one & the plot is wrong for that one.

Merry Christmas friends.

One of my goals for 2024 is to post here and help these conversations advance.
