Not Gareth Morgan the NZ politician that wanted to kill all domestic cats..... I'm the Corporate Affairs Executive Director, #BJJ Brown Belt, UKBJJA Board member, #Labour activist and civil war veteran version. "One of the rudest egg accounts on Twitter"
From Seamus O"Rourke's "Rescued Time"

"I'd watch the taking daffodils make mansions of our houses"

"And I'd hear the trickle of the stream as it carried off the winter"

"And I'd bathe in this moment....a day working with my father"

I love this other one which ends up about being about his father.

So many amazing bits to it, his dad crying in the porch, him feeling awkward as old men got up to offer their condolences. You are in the room with them.

Every now and then I'll listen to Seamus O'Rourke reading his poem "the drawer".

The most beautiful tribute to his dad.

There are a few Heaney lines i always think about:

From Digging:

"By God, the old man could handle a spade.

Just like his old man."

And, the most moving, from Mid-Term Break:

"A four-foot box, a foot for every year."

It's a weekly staple on a Friday busy, great stuff. I'm enjoying the Times one as well but sometimes it feels their analysis is fuelled by a desire for drama.

I've read the take on this that it's because it's valued as a tech company rather than an automotive.

Definitely "sounding out" when Burnham was making moves.

Masterful R4 interview then, but definitely showed his teeth with the Lucy Powell was right about culture in No.10 comment.

Totally agree. Only part I felt his temper was frayed was when he said Lucy Powell was right about culture in No.10

I think this last week is evidence for the comms theory that if you are under attack/pressure... wait long enough and something will come along to distract people.

A week ago the situation was terminal, Kier or Morgan had to go etc

The Trump visit was bloody fortuitous.
