It's all about productivity

UK GDP growth has been driven by increase in the number of hours worked for decades.

I think this government is trying to increase productivity, which is relatively bad in the UK, to grow the economy by making employing staff more expensive

Yes, employing staff is becoming more expensive, so companies reliant on cheap labour:

1) Improve productivity, ie grow
2) Lay off staff and become more productive
3) Go bust

It's all about productivity.

To be better off, the rate of increase of income has to exceed the rate of inflation. Falling inflation means this is far more likely to happen and guaranteed for pensioners, people on minimum wage etc.

As I've said, inflation has almost certainly peaked
November 28, 2025 at 11:49 AM
There are a few things that will improve cost of living:
- falling interest rates
- increase in minimum wage
- remove 2 child benefit cap
- free rail fares
- inflation falling in future (probs)

Freezing tax allowances means increases in salary will increase tax but will still increase takehome pay

Increasing employer NI, reducing immigration, increasing minimum wage...

The only explanation I can see is that HMG is trying to grow through improving productivity rather than increasing employment

Brilliant

I would also add the need for documentation on financial loss. This could include tax returns, bank statements, crypto holdings etc .

Apologies for the ignorant question but what is the difference between 'grooming gang' and 'group based CSEA'?

I don't suppose anyone has tried to see if Yaxley-Lennon has been in contact with these women.
October 22, 2025 at 5:51 PM
I'm not expecting to change his opinion. It's sometimes interesting to see what people think and why.

In this case simple racism justified by general "coming over here, taking our jobs" type rubbish

As for Jenrick, it's very hard to know what he thinks as he just says whatever he thinks will help him.

Remember when he joined the protests outside a asylum seeker hotel. He was the miniter that came up with and implemented the idea of housing asylum seekers in hotels.

"your own culture"

Trouble his, you're culture is only a small subset of British culture.

"claimed"

Nobody named. It's just "claimed".

He also went on to suggest that the justice secretary should appoint judges rather than the Judicial Appoints Commission.
Yes, that means moving from an independent appointments to political appointments. That's not very independent is it

Again, the UK needs immigration which has huge benefits in terms of the economy and public services.

As for working harder for less money, that's not unfair, that's competition in a capatalist society.

Remember, the general public are benefiting from the competition by paying lower prices
October 6, 2025 at 8:37 PM
"you who sneer at working people whose life choices are reduced due to unfair immigrant competition for work, services and lifestyle."

The UK needs immigration which has huge benefits in terms of the economy and public services.

Unfortunately you're being played, believing the lies
October 6, 2025 at 6:43 PM
This is the problem. The flags have become a symbol of objecting to immigration. That's not patriotic.

It's not your flag, it's our flag and I object to it being used in this way

"Utter contempt for people’s concerns about mass immigration for 40 years has led to resentment ..."

Number of people claiming asylum in the UK, years ending December 2002 to March 20251

Any idea why crossings rocketed at the begining of 2020?

Carefull, your racism is showing
October 3, 2025 at 12:06 AM
So which bit if factually incorrect?
- safe routes closed
- legal obligation
- EU returns policy (I think that's what he's saying!?)
October 3, 2025 at 12:05 AM
Yes, British
October 2, 2025 at 11:58 PM
We've encountered each other before. I already know he hates immigrants, foreign students, asylum seekers etc.

Even when he's shown the clear economic benefits to immigration and the catastrophic consequenses of stopping migration, he'd rather do that!

Funny how damaging the economy is 'patriotic'

I have a funny feeling James wouldn't agree

What's a 'true Londoner'?
October 2, 2025 at 12:33 AM
To vote for London Mayor:
"be a British citizen, a European Union citizen or a Commonwealth citizen who has or does not require leave to remain in the UK"

PS
Labour 43.8%
Reform 3.2%

Reform were a noisy fringe party in London in 2024

"Meanwhile Farage literally hugged Lucy Connolly because she incited violence and pleaded guilty to racism."

Meanwhile Farage is upset because Starmer said that some of Reform's policies are racist, which they are.

Now come up with a slightly more thoughtful response than "blah blah blah"
