My life’s creative passion is cartooning; I also love graphic design, which is my full-time gig. I draw funny animals and write biting satire.
Guelph Film Festival starts today! It's been a pleasure working their excellent, boundary-pushing team in both my capacities as a designer and illustrator. With docs and thematic events in venues throughout our community, GFF encourages us to learn about people fighting for a better world.

Trigger warning. But I empathize about the brain-blur, though I more or less successfully avoid much of what the author describes.
My Brain Finally Broke
Much of what we see now is fake, and the reality we face is full of horrors. More and more of the world is slipping beyond my comprehension.

My friend Nick Craine gave me permission to post this. He's worked as a commercial illustrator for decades. Now his clients have moved to AI. He is building decks. We need creative people who are telling the stories especially now. AI is robbing their talent to maker the rich richer.

Fuck you, AI.

My most viral cartoon about a virus (oh, the irony) turns 5 today. I’ve made some changes to reflect the horrific times we’re in today. Fun: substack.com/@mackaycarto...

Enbridge is trying to convince the Ontario Energy Board is to deny eMerge intervenor status, as they try to keep the City of Guelph's subsidy on their underground gas lines. Time sensitive—by March 5 at 11:59 pm. Only takes a minute to sign this petition—it'll have an impact with enough folks!

If, like me, you've dumped Netflix and are looking for alternative entertainment, check out this Canadian movie on CBC Gem set in New York in the 90s. It was just what I needed to get away from it all. Literary escapism.

57% of Ontario voters didn't want Ford. Yet, Ford can do what he wants for four years. If we had the German with proportional representation, the will of the people would be reflected with an NDP-Liberal coalition. Every election in Canada is proof that we need a new system for elections. #OnPoli

No Exit
About 300 migrants from all around the world were deported from the United States to Panama. There, they were trapped in a hotel, facing a choice of whether to return to places they had fled.

Doug Ford has done nothing that he promised to do. The housing crisis is worse. Health care is worse. And the Ford government recorded two of Ontario's three-highest per-person spending years since 1965. By all metrics, #dougfordfailed. Yet, he is cruising to reelection.

Wait, so 10% of Canadians would like to join the United States? I suggest they emigrate to Florida. There are usually 3 million Canadians there every winter anyway.

At least nuclear war between the U.S. and Russia has arguably become less likely.
