Just completed a Doodle poll for a meeting, then noticed the advert below. And nothing says deep personal identity like a cheap click-bait quiz designed to harvest clicks.

I recommend a boycott of @doodle.com if they persist with this insulting gamification of sexual orientation.

Today, the weather in Aberdeen is exactly how everyone south of Aberdeen thinks that the weather is always like in Aberdeen.

One year on Bluesky.

Wow.
It's going to blow his mind when he starts considering the alleged harms of burning natural gas, coal, oil, etc.

It's a pretty Autumn up my way.

I know I shouldn't jump to conclusions before reading the article.
But I'm willing to stick my neck out and say that I'm against.

I wonder how many people submitting abstracts to the British Society for Rheumatology conference will submit something with only 20 words.

Pleased to be spending all day at a eurospa.eu collaboration meeting.
Sometimes we meet face-to-face in Copenhagen. And sometimes online.
The view is never as good for the latter!

Did no-one think of this?
October 4, 2025 at 10:47 AM
Never knew that.

Right listen here Microsoft, if you're going to insist on correcting grammar, the least you could do is get it right.

Nice little ego boost from Strava.
I'll be so disappointed if I subsequently find out that only seven people have ever done it!

Are you a healthcare professional who sees people with #AxialSpondyloarthritis?
We're keen to determine current practices when requesting MRI for these patients.

Please complete this short (2-3mins) survey:

(And please forward to others.)

Many thanks.

Students who arrive late (2-3wks into the course) do less well than students who are present from week 1.

Annoyed I couldn't get the paper I wanted. (Paywall.)
But pleased to see that @elsevierconnect.bsky.social have a background of Jon Snow's cholera map, from the 1850s.

Last day of the holiday.
I knew I shouldn't have looked at the weather at home.

It might have been 32°C in London today. But in Royal Deeside, it was in the low to mid 20s.
Perfect for a long cycle: 57 miles, 2,634 ft ascent, and a shade over 3hrs 47mins.
Being the solstice, sunset tonight is after 10pm.
... I could go round again but the legs won't let me!

Changing trains in Montrose.
Not a bad place to wait when you have this view.

Anyone else fed up with overuse of supplementary files?
The clue's in the name: it should be additional content, supplementing the manuscript, but not essential to its understanding.
Other than mentioning 40,000 patients not even eligible for this analysis, this supplementary figure adds NOTHING!

Looking forward to the @bsacandjac.bsky.social Spring Conference at the end of the week.
Will be presenting and update, and some initial data, from #UKARStudy.

On the Elizabeth Line, at Heathrow.
(Not quite as good as @tubemapper.bsky.social, but it's OK.)

If you're going to insist on answers, at least indulge us with good questionnaire design.
There is no way to answer "no".
