he will have to call a General Election for a mandate to implement his different economic policies. He did not stand on the Starmer/Reeves/McSweeney manifesto and the press and, most significantly, the markets will call him out if not.

I think Rory imagines the return of the days when the local squire rode into town on horseback to present his latest ideas for wrestling power back from the Vatican

Local by-election results suggest they're developing a good ground game. And the Tories are worried that they're hoovering up all the young right-leaners, who are much more likely to be active.

No room for complacency but ultimately the extremists don't get the gospel message, it's a call for us all to be faithful teachers and preachers

Is it that warm air that's leading to the high rainfall totals in the South West?

For the budget, more economics Ed, Business Ed, Home Ed than Pol Ed. For the Spring Statement more Education Ed, Health Ed, Defence Ed than Pol Ed. These are their key moments to bring expertise, interpretation and application for the viewer/listener.

Sorry, is he talking about the 2023 Tory Party Conference? Or the Spring Budget of 2024?

Can you imagine the reaction on soc med to: 'I'm heading off to the Jesus College library for a couple of days to explore the arguments around nudge theory for healthcare' Yet most people had no clue in the 70s or 80s what their MP was up to!

Of course the rise is not comparable to some of the revivals of the past- and people are free to quibble with the title- but it has provided a sound basis for increases that are being noted by church leaders around the country.

This means there will be churches where there are few or no under 35s, the age groups growing the most. They therefore cannot see a rise for demographic reasons.

The report addresses the rise in attendance at both Catholic and Pentecostal Church services and contrasts this with Anglican (page 18). Anglican churches have a unique challenge with the parish system required to cover every person on every blade of grass in the nation.

MRP opinion polls for voting intention use similar sample sizes, I've never seen them called niche. Their sample is taken from across the whole population, as does this survey.
November 22, 2025 at 10:19 PM
Why do you call it a niche survey? It's a survey of over 13000 respondents conducted by YouGov, and the report tracks changes across the last 6 years.
