My first love is my cat, Olympia, then literature, music, and cinema. In that order. I champion the arts I love and their creators. I'm the author of the short story collection, The Infernal, and Other Tales of Suspense, on Amazon.
Liberal. He/Him.
Yes, we've got about six weeks of the year to go, but Olympia agrees with her daddy that Joyce Carol Oates' novel FOX is the best book of the year--by far!

At Anne Rice's New Orleans house in the Garden district for the first time in more than 20 years.

So grateful to @joycecaroloates.bsky.social for turning me onto the great Italian writer Alberto Moravia.
I have a better edition of this one in storage, but I got this fun ppb at an antique mall.

At least Olympia and her daddy are back on Bluesky! X was a big fail.

Yes, I've written a book. Actually, I've written several, but this short story collection, The Infernal: And Other Tales of Suspense, is what's available on Amazon if you care to take a look, and if you do, thank you.

So much like my Olympia! I'm so very sorry for your loss. Trust me, I've lost many fur babies and I know how truly awful it is.

A very happy NEW YEAR from Gare and Olympia to you and Zance & Lilith!
I know the next few years is probably going to be a disaster, but maybe we can put our anxieties aside for at least one night to welcome the new year.

If Carter had been re-elected, I don't think that tens of thousands of American men, women & children would have died of AIDS. He was a merciful, caring human being who would not--could not-- have sat by for years and watched as people--some of them gay men--died horrible deaths.

Joyce, how about this image for your BlueSky cover photo? Not Tenniel, but pretty good?

We had seven at one time. Just four of them shown here. I miss them all so much! I'd like nothing better than to have them all back, each and every one.

Trying to get on with my day, but of course her highness Olympia decides that I'm a daddy pillow. Guess I'll relax a while.

I say to all Del Toro fans, if you really want to experience Del Toro's genius in full flower, listen to his commentary of Dreyer's Vampyr in the Eureka! edition of the film--sheer brilliance! Thank you for doing it. Somewhere Dreyer smiles.

As my mother used to say: "The problem with a lot of people is that they can't stay out of other people's underwear."

Few things irk Olympia more than when an autumn leaf thinks it can disguise itself as a nun and slip past her, undetected. Never, ever underestimate her leaf finding expertise.

Me: "Excuse me--isn't that daddy's spot on the couch?"

Olympia: "No."

This was my Angelique, 1995--2013. The most beautiful cat who ever lived. Slept on my chest all night long for 18 years. Would wake me in the middle of the night demanding to be petted back to sleep. When I woke up in the middle of that first night without her.....
