Was just reading about this quiet explorer I had neve heard of last night, Hubert Darrel. Amundsen apparently said if he could get a few guys like this he could make it to the moon.

Minus the beans this is my wife's go to childhood comfort food. I always assumed it was a working class French Canadian thing because until now I hadn't heard anybody else mention it. I wonder if it just evolved independently in a few places where those are the most common cheap staple goods

My oldest did about an hour on the way to a cottage one time. I checked him so many times, I think he was just pissed about the drive though. My youngest has gone 45+ a few times when he's sick or teething but there's no feeling behind the last 20 mins of it, I think he just forgets why he was mad.
