Another thing I’ve dabbled with but not had any luck so far are air plants - tillandsia. This is my third attempt at keeping them alive. I now know about soaking rather than misting, so fingers crossed 🤞#GardensHour

Recent storm damage in the park outside my house. We have lots of huge old trees, but they are repeatedly getting weakened by disease and damaged by storms. This one might be next on the hit list 😢 #GardensHour

Here’s my favourite pinks from this year. Not really any pale tones, although I added a clematis armandii apple blossom this year - hopefully some early pale pink blooms next year #GardensHour

I don’t have much red at all, so here’s a little compilation of reds of years gone by. I clearly need to add more, don’t I? #GardensHour

Not blue or purple, but I stayed at a place on Dartmoor at the weekend with these huge old rhododendrons - beautiful! But damn I wish I visited earlier in the year! #GardensHour

Snapped my lavender in the evening sunshine for you last week before I left. Absolutely buzzing with friends, but I am terrible at catching them on camera 🤣 🐝 #GardensHour

I had the least #GardensHour weekend at the F1 at Silverstone- I did manage to find some plants, although they were struggling with the heatwave, then high winds, then torrential rain and thunderstorms we experienced! I nearly took one home 🤣

Mine is mostly pinks and purples at the moment. I completely forgot to get a pic of the front garden lavenders that have such a deep blue/purple tone at the moment - I really must capture it soon #GardensHour

Went out to photograph my garden this evening and got totally distracted by the power struggle over the bird table between a wood pigeon, collared dove and a squirrel… I spent 30mins watching them but this was the only photo I took 🤦‍♀️🤣 #GardensHour

June means this lovely rose says hello. And this year it is yelling HELLO! I may have forgotten to prune it last year, so it’s massive and covered in blooms. Long may it last #GardensHour

Loving this combo! The ceanothus was new last year and didn’t flower much. Has really bloomed this year and looks great with the philadelphus #GardensHour

Nothing to do with the theme, but had to share this patch of land that grows wild just beyond my back fence. Some years the wildflowers are epic - this year is one of them! #GardensHour

Mine has to be the school garden I helped clear, design, fundraise, project manage and plant #GardensHour

This photo isn’t particularly special, but I remember taking it, sun out, bees buzzing, calm and quiet, sat with a cup of tea in my garden. I can hear it, smell it and feel it 💜 #GardensHour

Does anyone know what this is? I stayed in a place in Cornwall this weekend and the garden was just waking up. I could suss out most bits but this escaped me! #GardensHour

Forsythia - I feel like I’ve been looking at a big stick for far too long… but it’s starting to feel worth the wait! #GardensHour
