I'm still trying to get my head around that very same group of people deciding that a raped child should have to carry to term.
If men could get pregnant, we would not be having this discussion. Morning after pills would be in vending machines in several flavors.

I have tried a couple of types of stakes, but to keep from snapping the stems, you would almost need something flexible. I have not mastered anything that beats the support of the companion plants (so far).

The ones in front of my grasses are the original group. The chap growing in with the marigolds is all cuttings. Mine do bend in windstorm. Not sure how to prevent that.

I love these. I have them, and if they bow over on you, did you know you can snip the stem about 2 joints down, put them in a vase of fresh water and grow new roots. The snipped plant will even regrow from where you snipped it. I grow sedums in a circle around my verbena-it stops them flopping.
