Mom, wife, grandma, living in a blue section of AZ. I post about politics, pets, my garden and family. I’m still on X and I hope to have similar interactions here. Dual citizen 🇺🇸🇨🇦, MEd, JD from a state uni. MARRIED! DM w/o permission = block.
My father, my stepfather, my uncles, my GFs all served & while they all made it back, for my uncles, there were deep mental scars. They’re all gone now, but I think of their sacrifice today. War changed all their lives.
Below: my GF home on leave. My father (L), later served in the Army & CG.

A picture of my Dad, who has been dead almost 20 yrs, taken while serving as a medic during WWll. Finding a moment to read was so typical of him.

We went on a picnic the day after my mom died, bc picnics are a generational tradition in our family and I really wanted to celebrate life that day. I hadn’t really looked at the photos from that day and I just realized how sweet they are.

My first Mother’s Day without my mom. I’m thinking of her today with love and gratitude. Mom died on Jan. 25th as the sun was rising.

Grand daughter, seeing here, eating her foot, also, spontaneously verbally identified the letters “O”,”M” and “I” on her father’s shirt. She’s 20 months. 😳

Easter at the Garcia household!

My grandson has been very into snakes, particularly rattlesnakes. So my daughter found him a stuffed snake with eggs inside and all the eggs have baby snakes just as a rattlesnake reproduces! They are ovoviviparous, meaning, they give birth to live young.

Happy Easter!

My daughter just sent me this. My grandson’s advice for “hiding from the news”. He’s four.

I woke up to this metaphor this morning.

The last day of our trip for me (Juan contours on). It was the first time either of us were in Ensenada. It’s such a lovely city and we had such a good time today!

We’re in Hilo, Hawaii today and got to enjoy Akaka Falls. Off and on rain all day, some of it heavy, but we had a lovely day. I’m proud of the first shot here of the rain forest walk leading to the falls.

All she wants to do is explore. She’s absolutely fearless! It’s terrifying! She climbed all the way up that rope ladder and hoisted herself up on the platform above- at 15 months!

See the dead saguaro. This is where our country is going.
February 16, 2025 at 2:51 PM
Saguaros often start life under the protection of a “nurse tree” and eventually, they kill it. There’s a metaphor there somewhere.
