The funny thing is that the people are usually right that I am *capable* of figuring it out myself, but *having to or else* just made it all way too rigid and ugh.

Now reflecting I see that I had that so often in my PhD, it makes me really sad because I could have done a lot more with some reassurance and gentle encouragement and just some walking through a little bit. Often I don’t even need that much, and it unlocks so much.

And getting the help actually gives me more confidence that I can figure things out myself as well, because it’s less of a big deal.
Often, just the feeling that I have to make something work under the gun without knowing how would just be so stressful that I would avoid it as hard as possible.

I bought a coat secondhand online and it arrived musty and I have been trying to get the smell out for a week but it seems that soaking it in vinegar for some hours has finally done the trick and it smells clean now. However I’m still a bit disgusted at how it was
