If she quits early, it tightens the majority margin by one vote until at least the special election. And in the current environment, the special election could go either way.

As is often the case, “we” thought the Drain The Swamp stuff was an obvious joke that would fool no one. But lots of people, millions even, actually believed that was a thing he would do—and in some cases, they think he did!

Can’t wait for some future Stanford coach to blame an ACC CG loss on being too jet lagged from coin-flip travel!

The other thing is a lot of Republicans were still kind of Trump-skeptical in 2017, until he delivered on judges, TCJA, etc. Different story now, where he started with high GOP approval and has been eroding it. Much harder to see where new converts come from.

Congrats to our incoming First Gentleman, CavMan.

Not to beat a dead horse, but I think that’s roughly what it would’ve cost to run USAID for those same five years. Makes you think…

Yeah, but telling him to “do some basic homework” is like realizing this and then covering yourself in chum

I also dislike the confusing usage of “run” in this context. “The SOL began to run when X happened” (meaning the clock started), but also “The SOL has run” (meaning you’re out of time, some years later)!

As best I can tell, the first Trump ancestor arrived in the US in 1885. *All* of Obama’s maternal ancestors were here well before that. Either is totally fine! But I would probably not be a super-nativist if my mother and 2/3 of my wives were literally immigrants

Somebody out there wished on a monkey’s paw for Hakeem Jeffries to no longer be the Dem leader in the House

I would have thought CAN and AUS would be similar to the US in miles per capita, but apparently not! www.youcallwehaul.com/driving-mile...

Curious what explains that difference.
Driving Miles: U.S. vs International
How much time do we spend in vehicles? Today, we will examine the difference between international and domestic driving. How does the drivin

Someone should make a movie where they don’t get arrested until later in the plot. Like the dumbest and most despicable “putting a crew together” film you can imagine. I guess you’d have to make the plan a lot less despicable to make it watchable though

It would be pretty funny if the first election after Jimmy Carter’s death turns out to be Kemp vs. Ossoff. Important to maintain exactly one living president from Georgia at all times
November 20, 2025 at 7:55 PM
That’s also bad! “Someone is credibly impersonating the president and giving out orders/stating policy in his name, using the same channels he would use to disseminate those messages” would be a massive scandal too. We’re still talking about how unbelievable it was that Edith Wilson did that!
November 20, 2025 at 7:46 PM
And then the story would be all about “These meds turned my kid into a zombie with a totally flat affect!”

And more recently, everyone in America quit smoking. A couple generations ago, seems like everyone either smoked or was constantly around smokers. That’s not the main thing, of course, but assuming you’ve got basic nutrition and health mostly under control, seems like it would make a difference

And when you go to H&R Block, they argue with you because you look too young to claim the senior deduction despite saying you’re “way, way over 65”!

I would subscribe to a Patreon (or whatever) that is just videos of different high-level politicians answering these two questions.

Nobody in this discourse ever seems to notice all the suburbs in Canada. Obviously policy levers like mortgage subsidies, plus racism, played some role, but lots of people in our most culturally similar country *also* like suburbs, even with different policies and racial situations!
