We demand freedom for our young female journalists who have been imprisoned as political prisoners! They are not criminals, but professional journalists. Their only “crime” is exposing corruption and repression, and bringing the people's problems to public attention.

I am deeply saddened by the news that political prisoner and renowned journalist Avaz Zeynalli has been diagnosed with cancer. Mr. Zeynalli has been imprisoned for two years and is currently serving a nine-year sentence. He was previously jailed in 2011 and spent three years behind bars.
