I've been wanting to try to get decent at art for a while now, it keeps feeling like an uphill battle, I never feel like I can get better in a way that matters. I drew this in about an hour and a half, while listening to Cavity by StomachBook on repeat, I don't think I have anything truly meaningful to say, but all I feel is this pain and longing for when things used to be simple. This is based off a comic idea I have where my OC does something terrible, and becomes his younger selves imaginary best friend, being able to provide the emotional support to himself that he needed while growing up, I often think the only people who can save us our ourselves, I want to take this in a literal sense. I don't think anyone will read this and that's ok, I want to learn how to do something for myself rather than others, but putting thoughts into words is often helpful. This is a fairly low effort piece. There's nothing grand in store, just a kid on the inside hoping to push themselves into the right direction artistically in order to unpack their emotional baggage. The image is of my OC being dragged away from the tub, cuts along their inner forearms, by the child version of themselves. I often like to think of this one Car Seat Headrest song Life worth missing, and the line "We call up our angels to cut us down" I hope that if I can keep pushing myself to put this idea on the canvas. I want to be seen and make others feel seen in the process. If you looked at this crappy attempt at art and decided to read the alt, I appreciate your time and I want to let you know that the pain is real and that it's ok to feel the way you do, all I can ask is you continue to keep trying with me and find ways to make this crappy world a little better than before we got here. Things might not get better but you will, you will always continue to get better and the effort you put in will matter in the end.
