3D models in Ren'Py right now seems to experimental feature and you can't really use it for anything non-static (bones and animations aren't loaded). I'm not going to reinvent the wheel with an attempt to implement it 😆, so I'll accept it that this is the most you can do with it.

Courses tend to be too focused on how to create a particular type of game.

It's been ages, but I remember their video tutorials being often outdated, so you look at how another person in the comments solved the issue. 😅
Humble Bundle frequently got discounted tutorials.

Bonus: Ren'Py...
Default model expression has slightly open mouth you can't close. 🥲

His hair is still WIP... want to do the hard tasks last. 😭 I'm impressed that all of this can be tuned within Vroid itself. The nose is a bit too cutesy and not quite my style, but I don't want to think about Blender for now, haha.

This is really interesting! Is it a project where people can submit their OCs to populate your game world?
This coincides with how I was dipping into Vroid again to create a 3D model of an OC for fun. Putting them in a game felt like next step. 😆

I haven't thoroughly tested it because I was focusing on other things, but I believe that changing the head variant also had that hair animation stay in sync. I can't say I'm fond of drawing the sprite variations, but it's been a nice practice.

Ah, I was more excited when characters were just images, lol. It becomes stressful when they're featured in an actual VN/game and you have to write dialogue for them. 😭
I think I will finish this because I already have written more lines than what is shown in demo.

I had a bigger script and I don't know why I cut out this much by the end.
It's kind of saving burned food, but the cut was too excessive and nothing remained. It would ended a bit further with 1000 words more, but suddenly doubted which parts had sufficient editing.

I discovered animation features with normal Ren'Py displayables and want to further test if looping frames remain seamless with LayeredImages attribute changes. [5]

At least the thought about needing to write the devlogs for 'the otome project' (the main VN) is finally gone, because it's semi-officially cancelled. There won't be any devlogs for anything. I needed that peace of mind. 😂 [4]

Might be the reason why the presentation of everything is sloppier. I'm not selling anything. I don't even want to pretend I'm a professional dev when I'm anything but. 😆[3]

That's probably why I wished to stick to schedule. You don't have to think about it and can move on doing other things. [2]

Oh, I can see the food-inspired influences in these lines and they're very poetic! ✨
Just curious: is your project also a trilogy like the others I've seen in the jam?
