The pose in the render is just so stiff, and the weird lighting on the fur makes it look so plasticy...

This makes me wonder, why don't we get official 2D art from Ken Sugimori, doesn't he always make official illustrations?

I think a larger page could work. Maybe it's more so the thickness of the lines that's throwing me off. It takes away from the other smaller details, like the claws, eyes and nose. It looks nice on Emolga, because it doesn't block any details and all the facial features are nicely separated.

Second issue I have is that the lines kind of blend together. It's super noticeable with the arms and the tail, see the pic, there's no depth. The green mark is what I liked. See how the lines don't connect? I think that really improves the depth.
But again, take my tips with a grain of salt :D.

Emolga looks great, but Minccino I have some problems with. The hatching makes the design look super messy and also, I can't actually see the grey color in it... 🥲 (1/2)
