Drogheda United are sixth with 51 points. Only two teams have ever finished that low when reaching at least that many points. Bray Wanderers in 2011 (51) and Bohemians in 2023 (58).

Bohemians are currently fifth with 14 losses. Only one team has ever finished in the top four with 14 or more losses, Drogheda United in 2004.

Under Joey O’Brien, Shelbourne have scored 11 times in the final 15 minutes of games after having scored just twice prior to his appointment. Their total of 13 is the most in the league.

Sligo Rovers haven’t scored three or more home goals since week 6 of 2024. Every other team to play both seasons has done so at least twice.

Cork City have conceded three or more away goals seven times this season. Only one other team (Sligo Rovers) have done so more than twice.

Drogheda United started the season with 11 points from their first five away games with three clean sheets.
Since losing on their last visit to Galway they have just nine points from 12 games with three clean sheets.

Bohs were the only team to score more than once against Athlone in a league game in 2025 and they’ve done so again in the Cup.

The last time an all-Premier Division FAI Cup semi-final was won by three goals was when Sligo Rovers beat Shamrock Rovers 3-0 in 2013. The last bigger win was Derry City beating Sligo Rovers 5-0 in 2006.

With today’s win, Athlone Town have already bettered last season’s points total (49 to 47) having already scored more goals (45 to 40) with one fewer game played.

Cork City have scored the fewest away goals this season but Galway United are on the longest run of home games without a clean sheet in the league. Their current run of 14 games is six more than next worst Cork City.

Following tonight’s results, 30% of all games have been drawn. Prior to last year, which was also 30%, it had not been this high since 2003 and averaged 24% in the years between.

86% of Cork City’s points have been at home. Only Bray Wanderers (94% in 2018) have had a higher proportion in the summer era.

However Sligo Rovers hit the target the most of any team in the league (39.6%) and have the highest xG per shot (.137)

No current Galway United player has scored a non-penalty away goal since February. All goals since were scored by Moses Dyer or Cian Byrne.
