I'm onto all manors of board games, video games, and sports.

I like following sources to articles, reading on at least two points of view on a subject, and have an interest in physics and astronomy. I prefer a Star Trek kind of society. Hope that helps
I hope Avalon/Hasbro/Wizards don't put Dungeon Mayhem, Guillotine, and Great Dalmuti on hiatus for another year, still waiting for any of them to get reprinted but my vendors de listed all of them :(

I remember years ago asking the Two Rooms and Boom site if they plan on hitting retailer distribution anytime soon, and I think he said he had a kid and that put things aside. Fortunately it finally showed up at US distribution last year for retailers.

It's biggest advantage is the 2 page getting started rulebook to trick non gamers into playing a more on depth game, but I think the SRP is like $60, and a game like Destinies or Jaws of the lion feels like they have more going for it for cheaper.

The list makes me feel like you either started gaming in the late 00's or you follow the SDJ awards. Wonderful Plays is a fun YouTube channel from a global ranked 7 Wonders player.

Poor compile, Greater Than Games keeps getting dealt bad luck getting their games in people's hands.

First list I have seen there all the games are considered 'evergreen' titles (still sell well).

And two women lead designed games. wingspan and Qwirkle!

Adventures of Robin Hood (Spiel Des Jahres nominee) might be the closest you can get to a cheaper Earthborne Rangers as it has a similar idea for it's changing map

I was hoping Hasbro would redesign HeroQuest into a cheaper more strategic Jaws of the Lion style game, but I don't mind the fancy broken jank kept on HeroQuest, it's a blast seeing people break it like a Bethesda game lol

Antoine Bauza (tokaido, takenoko, hanabi) is how I came across someone saying French culture is pretty big into Japanese culture stuff. But I haven't looked further into it.

It's called Everdell Silverfrost, $110 US SRP, but haven't seen what's in it yet. I played Everdell Duo and I like all the different ways to play (competitive, co op, campaign mode, or solo)

This is the most unique list I've seen so far, and probably the least stuff I've played on your list :)

I have no memories of playing Jihad in the 90'd aside from some roulette-lile card that demolished me lol

Sadly form my metrics it slowed to a crawl in sales. And I have a feeling Renegade might be too busy with the Hasbro licensing they got.

The downside is it's a beefy boy, SRP of $60 but USAopoly usually charges high shipping so local stores may be selling it for more.

I imagine it should get some deep discounts next year when stores need to clear inventory.

Villainous is such a great idea, wish I could see what Prospero Hall had for future Prototypes.

I thought I read Slay the Spire was made by two former game store owners, if so they gone full circle. How we wait for a Balatro board game (which you can do now with a deck of cards, markers, and a scientific calculator I suppose)

Vegas Showdown is still my favorite light tycoon game, it feels like just some tiny thing is missing, maybe more builders or assymetric casinos. Or maybe I just want a solo mode of it lol

Good to see Star Realms hit the licensing scene with Star Trek Realms, I hope they change up mechanics for any future Realms IPs

Mystery Express was my favorite mystery game until Search for Planet X came out. (Minus that time mini game in between round)
November 15, 2025 at 1:42 PM
Poor Stefan Feld still trying to top Castles of Burgundy sales. I wish the best for his Druids of Eruda game. And I saw Asmodee has another big Everdell game coming out.

I am hoping Space Agencies' assymetry adds a lot more to SETI as the opening felt a bit lacking.
November 15, 2025 at 1:38 PM
Still my favorite city builder. I tinkered around with making a city builder myself that had you place roads, square RCI tiles, and had little trucks that could fit a cube industry produced for you to move it to commercial tiles, then have little Game of Life cars that left holes to pickup stuff

Sandra Chang's artwork ❤️. The sequel to Flamecraft released two months ago as well, Tea Witches, but I haven't played it yet

Ark Nova nailed the RNG card engine game. SETI I feel comes close because they solved the issue with the rando cards by making them have multiple uses.

I'd recommend checking out Magical Athelete which just released last week in the US. It's a roll and move game like Sorry but you can choose how card you want to break the game each round 😆 (it's likely selling beyond it's $30 price tag online due to scarcity at the moment)
