Has this whole year felt like this to anyone else?

From GI Joe: A Real American Hero, published in 1984 by Marvel Comics.

An odd place for truth like this to both appear and be relevant.

This is Ramses. He was my first cat. He was /not/ what a starter cat should have been. If he liked you, you were subject to his protection from people he didn't like. And he didn't like very many people.

He left us suddenly on January 21st, 2017 after eighteen years of terrorizing my friends.

Is there any human being alive who honestly genuinely believes that he has a shot at winning this?

Bloomberg's headline, "Norway on Edge ... " seems to be the only one grounded in reality.

Today is QWERTY's annual tune-up. It didn't take him long to find the treats.

Just my FitBit numbers can tell you I was a convention last week.

He loves keyboards almost as much as he loves tortillas.

I'm honestly so-so on the Lore War story arc in the current Star Trek comic continuity, but, with that said, "Shaxs' Worst Day Ever" has been fantastic. And it pulls no punches.

Today is Nefertari's Gotcha Day.

She's been with us seven years, now.

She's not a perfect kitty, but I don't think she has a mean bone in her body, and my life would be much worse without her in it.

Apparently I'm not leaving the house today.

... I'm sorry, this costume is made of WHAT?

Someone has been asleep in my lap for nearly an hour.

Apparently Staples finds me filled with disappointment and incapable of love.
November 6, 2024 at 5:12 PM
This is actually much lower than I had expected.

Reminds me of this sequence from our wedding, when @insertscenehere.bsky.social had her first (and last) Coke Blak.
September 10, 2024 at 11:47 PM
... and this is Feina.
August 28, 2024 at 3:26 PM
This is Ramses.

QWERTY had his first vet appointment this morning. Nefertari has forgiven me for bringing him home afterwards.

QWERTY (named for his affinity for Steph's keyboards).

Daisy passed unexpectedly a month or so ago, and we are emphatically not a one-cat household.

Nef is still hissing a bit, but less and less. He, in turn, wants to meet her.

Our household population increased by one today.
August 5, 2024 at 12:53 AM
Nefertari (Nef) fell asleep as I was holding her at an adoption event. There was no fighting that.

We'd been looking for a new kitty for close to three months at that point, and she was the first one to really sink her claws into my heart.

This just keeps coming back for me from Melania's statement.

It's not "a monster who thought my husband is ... "

It's not "a monster who mistook my husband for ... "

This statement essentially acknowledges that 45 is, in fact, an inhuman political machine.
July 15, 2024 at 5:10 PM
Nefertari does the same thing.
June 29, 2024 at 12:18 AM
"Working" = "Horking"

We won't put our precious kitty girl to work. Unless it's modeling or otherwise being adorable.

This article keeps wandering across my feed: www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie...

Did you look at the cast? Jeff Bridges. Sam Eliott. Music from T Bone Burnett.

This is less Grendel and more Grend Y'all.
