Returned last night after I slept. Another 6h hunting session. Dad spent lots of time in nest as well.
It's nice that I no longer worry she'll abandon the nest. She also seems to be looking forward to December 🥰

Luckily, mom had no issues at all, so it was probably a minor scratch.

Poor mom came back with a wound from her final 10-minute outing tonight, seemingly a scratch wound on the chest, towards her left wing.
Left wing was wincing every couple seconds until she settled and the drips stopped within a minute. Hope she's fine, sleeping now since shortly before sun up 😔

Poor mom came back with a wound from her final 10-minute outing tonight, seemingly a scratch wound on the chest, towards her left wing.
Left wing was wincing every couple seconds until she settled and the drips stopped within a minute. Hope she's fine, sleeping now since shortly before sun up 😔

Can't believe how much of a drop it was from the incredible Bound by Blood (Grothmar Valley) & Whisper in the Dark (Bjora East) to the Shadow in the Ice (Bjora West) Mastery.

Mom finally back, this time after 6.5h hunting outside, longest yet once more
While didn't directly affect mom yet, massive improvement in dad's behavior tonight. Spent huge time in nest, wasnt sleeping/uninterested like before, nest scraping, actively calling mom for once.
Hopeful for December 🙏🤞

Albeit late, his cycle seems to be finally kicking in, gives hope for December.

Well, the eggs were confirmed abandoned yesterday already but last night was scary.
Everyone assumed after 4 hours gone from the nest at night, that she finally abandoned the nest as well, and had every right to.
It was magical to still see her come back, was worth it to stay until 5am 🥹

Harsh couple days as my first nest watching... Wishing nothing but the best for the resilient mom barn owl, doing everything on her own, hunting by herself while dad is uninterested in bringing prey.

And tbh, this was the Drakkar chapter and that Meta certainly delivers.
Gotta Chapter Mastery and move on!

So that's how we got to Eye of the North in the first place!
Shadow in the Ice was... Not as robust as Whisper in the Dark. Mostly open world chores but at least ended with a massive bang!
And tbh, this was the Drakkar chapter and that Meta certainly delivers.
Gotta Chapter Mastery and move on!

Whisper in the Dark Mastery was great!
Aside from the Snowstorm Meta (bit of a drag) I feel like this was by far one of the most well balanced Masteries, with an amazingly intriguing story set up attached!
Now to West Bjora Marches! But I'll be back for Boreal Weapons & Light Puzzles!

Whisper in the Dark Mastery was great!
Aside from the Snowstorm Meta (bit of a drag) I feel like this was by far one of the most well balanced Masteries, with an amazingly intriguing story set up attached!
Now to West Bjora Marches! But I'll be back for Boreal Weapons & Light Puzzles!

Holy moly, Drakkar is a really cool and intense Meta! Every encounter is very fast paced, constantly moving forward and relatively chaotic (rapid) in nature, despite simple design.
Gonna be spending a lot of time with it until Chapter Mastery as usual 🤣
