Metal Gear Solid showed what could be achieved by bringing the camera in close and setting up cinematic shots. In many ways it set the template for modern AAA games!

eyy, that's good to hear! I'm writing a future video right now and the Sleeping Dogs one is a big stylistic reference for that.

There's more, of course, but I'll leave it there! I'd love to make videos more often... but this is really just a hobby. There's only so much time! I'm so grateful that I can take my time, and still people turn up! Next video is a big one, but it's taking a bit longer. Sorry!!! ^^ See ya when.

Different format on this one, which I think affected viewcounts. After a year of reading print gaming magazines, I made a case for why people should (if able) pay for better games writing. Still worried that one day, they'll vanish. It's great to see indies like Debug and Patch still going strong!

I noticed that a lot of 'entertainment'-type gaming videos weren't able to get into nitty-gritty analysis without sacrificing the pacing. This was my attempt to solve that with a more laid-back narration style. Did it work? Still not sure! Another one I'd love to attempt with a smaller scope.

I always try to 'ask the next question'. Essentially, make sure I've fully explored an idea before pen goes on paper. I'd seen fun videos showcasing trains in games, but I really wanted to ask WHY they're added to worlds. Trying to find a way to make another video like this at a smaller scope.

It's a bit embarrassing to admit, but I still believe this is my best critique. Outlining that connection between Sleeping Dogs' mechanics and Hong Kong culture was the spark that saved the video from being scrapped. I'd love to get back into making 'proper critiques', and improve my writing.

Over the years, I've made a wide variety of videos. That lack of consistency usually leads to videos not really finding their audience. I've found that if they're left to simmer long enough, some do finally get their moment. Here's a few where I think that's yet to happen:

Fun fact - this one didn't start doing well until The Last of Us Part II released, and I got lots of traffic from my (old) thumbnail being on Google Images, of all places. Goes to show that you really can't predict algorithms. Finally played the game last year - it's pretty solid!

I really should do more of these "this is what the experience is like" videos. Acts a cool time capsule of where GTA Online was at all those years ago.

Playing the launch version of PAYDAY 2, and giving my thoughts on how the experience changed. Stories around discovering something are still my favourite type to make! When I made this video, PD2 was 6 years old. Now, the video ITSELF is 6 years old. Yikes!

An ode to The Crew as it was on its way out. Makes me happy that I did this one justice (I think!), and told a nice story about The Crew Unlimited community and their relationship with the game. Looking forward to the game's eventual return!

Ah, PAYDAY 2 music mechanics. Back then I was REALLY into the game, but even now it's still so easy for me to write and think about PAYDAY. Maybe in another life I could've been a 'PAYDAY youtuber', but I find it hard sticking to just one thing. I enjoy still seeing the comments roll in on this one!
