Most of the NB characters are created via the player, which is fine with me. I loved that Dragon age Inquisition has a few trans characters but sadly only a few. Only game i can think of with NPC is DA Veilguard, the newest one. I haven't played it yet, it looks fun.

I agree the corporations suck. The games have flaws but the dev teams weren't allowed to do what they felt was right for the games so thus i don't gripe on the games themselves. Bethesda has absolutely shown it's true colors lately. Those are the closest i have to endless games, plus harvest moon.

In oblivion with the knights of the 9 , there was a way to be evil but keep the armor and it was an ingame glitch.

As a nonbinary person, i change it up in my games. I pick various genders and builds that can be similar or different from myself. I pick various pronouns in games because the options are available. I'm grateful for these in games. It doesn't change the game experience, it's just comforting.

This will sound strange but put a small figure or figurine, or small stuffed animal that frequently makes you happy in the car with you where you can see it. I have a tiny octopus i used to put in the car. It's my car angel and is there to protect the car from bad energy so you'll be safer driving.

The good news: we are fighting back the horrors, we are coming together to help out as we can, and we are rebuilding destroyed communities. These are physical and mental ones. I feel it counts.
