What is your favorite 3rd party book?

Mine is probably the Tomes of Beasts for a great variety of flavorful creatures.

In other words there is no genuine, broad benefit for the use of so-called AI outside of certain niches (medical diagnosis seems to be promising) while the actual benefits are to an ever-narrowing group of people who already hold unfathomable power and money who already dehumanize regular people.

This has been seen repeatedly at every organization that has heavily implemented it: the quality of work plummets and after an initial boom in positive response it quickly turns sour and causes people to lose faith in the organization to accomplish its central goals.

They will create more poor people relegated to low-level, drastically underpaid labor that robots cannot (yet) do. Meanwhile the work that the AI puts out is shoddy, often hallucinated (i.e. false) data and there are little no controls against that at either a policy or technical level.

And the promises of the heads of AI organizations are made either out of ignorance or maliciousness with the intent to collect capital investment and/or personal data. Meanwhile one of the biggest promises of LLMs is that they will replace work. In other words they will disenfranchise people.

So the idea is a scam from the outset. When people think of AI they think of AGI - Artificial General Intelligence - which is more like what we see in scifi works like Star Trek (Data) and Star Wars (R2-D2 and C-3PO). The semantic differences are important yet lost on most people.

The so-called "AI" (actually Large Language Models - LLM) aren't artificial intelligence, they are chaos output machines. Intelligence implies intent which is something a computer, by definition, cannot have. Only the user can have intent and the computer is a tool to accomplish/express that intent.
