This is useful so I'm sharing because idk how to save posts.
one of the reasons bluesky works differently is because early users waged a successful fight to get the devs to prioritize safety features to protect communities at risk

as a result bluesky now has a suite of controls that i think are unmatched on social media

A thing you can do here. Look up your most difficult issue (e.g. Israel), and block people with the most extreme views (I keep some diversity) - I guess it's good to know BlueSky has everyone here, too... ~ The Jack E. Smith attacks seem like h.s. drama to me tho.

In 2021, Hegseth was removed from his National Guard duty securing Biden’s inauguration after failing vetting.

According to CBS News reporter Jim LaPorta on Twitter, the Pentagon eventually confirmed Hegseth was one of the National Guard members mentioned in this story:
