My local camra branch has boycotted all pubs showing a sticker or just saying there's a ban. That's a lot of people who turn up to pub crawl to miss out on.

The BBC uses two sources to verify and other outlets only one or maybe guess from social media. They're the last and best.

Congratulations. I remember running towards Baker St tube from Lord's area when I was running the tube lines. She ran the opposite way and we exchanged waves. Lovely.

It will all be watered down with amendments if even gets through at all. If I were Starmer, I'd leak the possibility of an early election if this and the budget gets a lot of resistance.

Oh dear. My wife of 40 years was born in New Zealand. Will I have to pay for her ticket or doesn't she count?

That ladder should be inclined at 4:1. They could have hurt themselves at the incline shown in the photo. Maybe one of them 'footed' the ladder.

Totally agree

All the weather stations don't show this. Check the BBC.

There’s no limit to how many children you can claim child benefit for.

It's the universal credit element that's capped.

Let's take free prescriptions away from the over 60s to pay for it. Thought not.

The major threat of these hurricanes seems to be in Europe.

Starmer could leak the possibility even if he doesn't intend to implement it. That would set hares running. How many MPs have more than one passport?
September 26, 2025 at 7:12 AM
Prove you've given up your foreign passport and use only your UK one or lose your UK passport and exist on a visa, which might not be granted. That would probably mean Farage and Tommy using the ECHR to overturn the decision, which would be fun. It might also help with immigration numbers.
September 26, 2025 at 7:12 AM
As long as the topic is immigration of whatever sort, it keeps us away from asking about NHS, BBC, public services, pensions, benefits, press freedom and liberal stuff. Not that he needs to define any policies yet, but do enough to keep his supporters happy, er angry. It's his route to power.

Increase stamp duty to 30-40%. The housing market will stall for a few months while the buying -selling chain readjusts, but people will want to move and the government gets its bigger cut of tax.

Just a Boomer gone down the rabbit hole. I hope the country and the world will be a lot better off without them(us) in a few years.

I've got repetitive strain injury. Can I claim pip?
July 3, 2025 at 2:24 PM
Labour were elected on the promise of no tax rises. They can't buck that, although they can muck about in the margins.
July 2, 2025 at 2:29 PM
Ooh does it deal with the economics of policies? Are you any good with numbers?
July 2, 2025 at 10:59 AM
Is she advising Sir Keir Starmer?
July 2, 2025 at 10:57 AM
When eating at home (usual) we say that would have cost a lot of money in a restaurant. When eating out, we say we could have cooked better at home. The exceptions are proper Indian food and pie and mash. I just can't make that pastry nor liquor.

Surrey v Durham. I think the shots were about 1 hour 30 into today's feed give or take.
July 1, 2025 at 3:30 PM
Blimey. Must read more diligently.
July 1, 2025 at 12:47 PM
Borrow the money to pay for pip, let interest rates rise and taxpayers and mortgage holders can pay. Or just slash another service that we all use. Why not abolish free prescriptions to pay for pip?

Means test it
