Pretty much everything in the game was straight to pixel art without concept art. This is pretty much the closed thing I have to concept art.

There will likely be more art created for things in the future. The vertical lines on Siege's helmet are supposed to be a vent.

Today's Zexion update lets you copy and paste random stuff into the Randomizer settings to get really wacky settings (Possible before but sometimes it would crash, oops)! Try pasting this post in there!

In terms of accessibility, I also like these photo sensitivity options I put in the game. An option to go and set them shows up before the game starts when it's first loaded up.

Zexion features tons of different assist options to fine tune the difficulty of the game, should you need to. Lot's of different damage settings, and even Save States! So almost anyone should be able to play it. Doesn't prevent achievements either.

I have a system set up to interpolate between key frames for larger enemies made up of multiple sprites. I like how the animation for this robot climbing up a tile turned out. #screenshotsaturday #gamedev #indiedev #gaming

Adding in custom character sprites to the randomizer! This sprite edit was originally going to be a kind of edgy rival character, but they were cut. I call them "Hunter X".

Also working on randomizing area palettes. This area's normally not purple!

Pretty much all my art skills are from making graphics while making video games. This "box art" might be too high-res to widely be considered pixel art, but I made most of it using the pixel art skills I use for my games. #pixelart #art #indiegame

Zexion features a built in randomizer with lots of options! Some games are more interesting than others in randomizer form. I feel the wide variety and utility of key upgrades, shortcuts, and densely packed map of Zexion make for an interesting routing puzzle

My custom game engine has save states. They've been very useful for testing things!

Players can enable them through the assist menu. Helpful for practicing speedrun tricks, or if you need to stop and aren't near a save point. Or if you want extra checkpoints

My game has no screen transitions, the whole map is in one giant seamless "room".

It also uses shaders for indexed color palettes. Which I highly recommend if you're making a game with a retro aesthetic, or one with a limited palette.
