The bottom line is, the person needs no ‘permission’ from the author to use a label they like, but tshd canon rejects labelling.

If you need a label, you can use ‘supernatural romance’ i.e. an established relationship between a human and a supernatural being where normal patterns do not apply.

They don’t have these labels in Japan.

To put it simply, Yoshiki loves Hikaru but he’s not in love with him. bc Hikaru is not human, so human patterns and labels don’t apply.

One of the main, precious and beautiful points is that Yoshiki enjoys freedom and label-less relatioship with Hikaru.
