Facts are facts, ranked choice benefits the well funded and the already popular, I've seen it every time

Ranked choice voting only insures that the best funded candidates will get elected. Is that what you want?

How did you miss Jurado beating deLeon in Los Angeles City Counsel? She unseated an incumbent who has the backing of the democratic establishment!

There's already a ton of apartments in Westwood and having Metro stops will allow people to go shopping there without paying the usurious parking prices for parking in one of the worst parking structures in LA. Is that person even real?

and of course they're more powerful. People think that by boycotting or defunding Israeli things they're making statement but all they're doing is weakening the voices for peace because the only funds are from the crazy right wingers.

I wouldn't call them zionists, i would call them supporters of a totalitarian regime in the Jewish homeland - let's be real - anyone who supports Bibi and his racist cohorts are supporting the destruction of Israel as the homeland for all the Jews.

yes, there's quite a bit.

The bigger point is how the LAPD operates. We need the out of the helicopters, out of the squad cars, off the horses and out of the riot gear. We marchers can see clearly who the bad actors are and if the police were with us not against us they could see too.

downtown alone was 3x that number.
June 15, 2025 at 3:54 PM
spot on, i'll add that i live in DTLA close to city hall and the worst thing is the constant circling of the helicopters.
June 11, 2025 at 12:13 PM
i believe it, usually people don't get shot but many people who live DTLA have a story of trying to get home - often blocks away from any protest action and close to ones home - and being blocked by the police. Happened twice to me.

And restaurants and bars and...

Farmers market too
June 9, 2025 at 8:37 AM
same in Grand Park
June 9, 2025 at 8:29 AM
I live closer, the clouds have cleared and it's a beautiful Sunday. We all missed the March of Dimes that also happened; got to the farmers market (lots of good food). Seriously except for the helicopters it's a peaceful Sunday in DTLA.
June 8, 2025 at 7:50 PM
there's pretty much nothing happening so there's nothing to cover
June 8, 2025 at 7:28 PM
yes i live just blocks from city hall, it's been an unusually quiet Saturday night, except for the dang helicopters...
June 8, 2025 at 7:41 AM
apparently it was more like 60,000 people.
April 13, 2025 at 8:26 PM
i think it was at least 4x that number, it's a big park and it was packed for blocks
April 13, 2025 at 1:03 AM
that seems most likely, i've been to the park when the official number was 60,000 and the crowd was at least that big, it was packed almost to the music center
April 13, 2025 at 1:00 AM
me too, and it just got bigger as the day went on...
