I've been feeling for a while that the fake problems (singularity ! skynet !) are used to cover up the real ones (jobs lost to incompetent AIs, financial bubble, environmental damage, scaling of bad behaviours...).

Current generative AIs are not supposed to be sources by themselves (no more than a human), they're supposed to point you to sources when needed. Of course, they kinda fail at it at this point.
