I will say, from (at least my) perspective, I've watched state governments and courts erode the rights of trans people over the last 3-4 years.

I have been lucky to have them in my corner.

The really nice part is that, yeah, everyone knows what's up now and the people who don't are people who I don't really see frequently enough for it to have come up

in the last year and a half or so, my parents have come out on my behalf a few times to more extended family because they know how stressful it was for me to come out to the immediates (first cousins and aunts and uncles) even when I had no reason to suspect they wouldn't be chill with me

sympathy to you, I've been in similar situations where my family has been like "don't say smth now it'll be like you're pulling attention away from the important thing"

It's not happened to me in a couple of years but it sucks and I'm sorry it's happening
