I have mine set to the default 6000 steps, 90 minutes active, and 500 kcal. I hit the goal every Wednesday when it's band practice, and perhaps 1-2 more times per week. Perhaps I should set it to 2000 steps, 15 minutes, and 100 kcal? Then I'll hit the goal every day without even thinking about it.
