Yeah I was more making fun of the person who said that worldbuilding would inevitably lead to communism. So I went hyperbolic in the other direction and wound up making people clutch pearls. yeah no, shit is too complicated for that. i dont think worldbuilding is inherently marxist or fascist. it just is. i think some of these nerds place too much emphasis on it almost like if they think if their world is detailed enough it will make up for their bad writing

I read Dreamers: How Young Indians Are Changing the World by Snigdha Poonam today on young entrepreneurs in tier 2 and 3 cities and towns across India and what's driving them (survival, rage, hope, hindutva, etc)

The country is struggling to create jobs for its young, though. Around 117 million people need to be absorbed into new and more productive jobs. The growing gap between jobs and jobseekers may lead to what the International Labour Organization calls a ‘scarred generation’. It predicts the ‘collective frustration’ will spark off protest movements and social instability. English encodes class in India. It does so by sliding into the DNA of social division: income, caste, gender, religion or place of belonging. The threat it poses to social cohesion is persistent enough that it has worried public commentators across the political spectrum. Even Mahatma Gandhi, who once famously claimed that ‘to give millions a knowledge of English is to enslave them’. Hate comes easy if you happen to be a high-caste Hindu man; you feel you have been cheated out of your rights in a series of betrayals going as far back as the first conquest of the country. You wish everyone else would see what you see—that you are India and every blow to its ancient order has been a blow to your place in it. You don’t even have to stand in that queue yourself to feel the anger. Framed by high-level bureaucrats in Delhi, the average government programme in India is notorious for its complexity, cumbersomeness and distance from the people it’s meant to empower. And so Indian villages are full of people either unaware of or deeply confused by state schemes. The gap between the regular Indian and sarkar is widest at the very bottom, where the government deals with the people least aware of what they are owed.

She is extremely food motivated, super eager to please, and incredibly impatient. This makes her easy to train: animals like this want desperately and will give up instantly, and so outlasting them is simple.
