UT OST Review Day 004 - Fallen Down

A very beautiful track. This is the first track so far at this point in the game that doesn't have any chiptune-style elements at all, and as an introduction to Toriel, it comes off as very warm, welcoming, and comfortable. It is pitched differently ingame, giving it a slight off-tune feel, which I just find is a nice added bit of flavor. It wonderfully captures the warm and comfortable caretaker feel along with hints of sorrow that represents Toriel pretty well. The definitive Toriel theme. Personal Rating: 7.5 fireballs out of 10

UT OST Review Day 003 - Your Best Friend

These first few tracks all have that simple, 8-bitty flavor to them, and I'm looking forward to getting into the more involved tracks. One step at a time, though!

I think this track does a pretty good job as an introduction to Flowey. The friendliness that seems just a bit too much to trust, but hey, it IS still pretty cheerful. That being said, the melody is fun. Literally. Both in the cheerful aspect and also the resemblance to that Spongebob FUN song. I like the way the melody is woven into other Flowey-related tracks, but as for this track on its own, still not anything all too crazy. Very recognizeable melody, fitting for the context, simple as needed. Can't go wrong there. Personal Rating: 5.5 friendliness pellets out of 10

UT OST Review Day 002 - Start Menu

I don't like to give low ratings, and it definitely does not suggest that I think this or any OST is bad. I don't think there's a single bad track in the game. So keep that in mind! I just need headroom for the higher ratings :)

Immediately another use of the Once Upon A Time motif, which would get people more and more acquainted with the motif. That being said, there's not a whole lot to say about this track at this point in time. It is the emptiest version of the track, though it doesn't need need to be super spectacular. So it's not spectacular, and there's not a whole lot to say about it, but it's a perfectly serviceable track. Personal Rating: 3.5 save files out of 10

UT OST Review Day 001 - Once Upon A Time

Every day I'll be sharing some quick thoughts about each Undertale track, as a longtime fan, self-taught musician and artist, and just someone who thinks about the music a lot.

The text reads: UNDERTALE OST REVIEW 001 Once Upon A Time For a main motif present throughout the entire soundtrack, I find it to be really strong in how adaptable and recognizable it is. But for this track specifically, it's got a nice simple 8-bit style which isn't anything too crazy, but, it still carries a pretty charming vibe, and actually has a relatively interesting progression. This track has 3 distinct melodic ideas, and while they're not always all used together, they each carry that main "haha yes this is the game's main theme" energy that's fun to pick up on. Personal Rating: 7 fallen humans out of 10
