Most accepted social scripts for hitting on people/expressing sexual or romantic interest in strangers are basically just normalized harassment, and people (women) should stop being expected to just put up with that just to go to bars/clubs/whatever.

Weirdly, mine said "made daily with hecrt"- I guess someone tried to update the image between print runs and, uh, just figured the word "food" couldn't be too far off?? But I think this was absolutely the result of OCR on that other image you posted: the like icon on it turns "heart" into "hecrt"

AI would never turn Original into Ddicinat since ddicinat isn't even close to a word and all the letters are different. but an OCR process just trying to match shapes in an image to the shapes of letters would

AI would have hallucinated those weird unletters it makes, mushed-up letter-like glyphs that don't exist. all the letters in this are real letters, just the _wrong_ letters. and they were picked because they _looked_ kind of right, which isn't the criteria AI would be using

!!! I got this same placemat at a restaurant in Connecticut last fall. I'd bet money it's _not_ AI. Someone ran English text through _bad OCR,_ so that letters ended up replaced with similar-looking letters (delicious -> doltclous), then graphic-designed the result without knowing any english

When I come across that I counter with an adaptation of another sci-fi adage in response:

"Any sufficiently advanced incompetence is indistinguishable from malice."

Somebody fucks up long and hard enough, it makes sense to assume there's ill intent at least in allowing it to continue.
