I knew I picked the right character 🥹

Monster Sanctuary is one of the best games I've ever played. I'm in on whatever the Moi Rai team cooks up next. Aethermancer looks sick, can't wait to try it out.

Mina tells me to follow someone, I follow someone

Same here. I'm so unbelievably confused.

The only thing consoling me is that literally everyone else is too.

As much as classic WB stuff & monetization is to blame, I think the core gameplay and online experience were the bigger culprits.

F2P, popular IPs, crossplatform, co-op, etc. But none of that matters if the foundations are bad. Player count had cratered before they took it offline the first time.

Seeing and hearing people say that the Patriots dynasty wasn't "annoying" like the Chiefs one is has had me questioning the reality I live in. How quickly people lose the lessons of history to time.

Objectively hilarious.

But as a Colts fan I am kinda sad, I had hoped he'd stay there forever.

Its like Ubisoft wanted their cake and to eat it too. They sent staff out to hype up the big fixes and changes they were making without being able to actually talk about the issues and why people didn't like them. What mistakes they made, etc.

That's why it felt like a miss to me, personally.

Which I don't hold against them. That's just something that comes with the territory of working at any large business in any industry.

Ultimately though it leaves the whole thing feeling like a PR stunt. And there's a dissonance between this interview and your personal brand of authenticity.

I don't think your questions were bad. I thought you actually asked a few good probing questions that would lead into the "why".

The problem (to me) was that Frederick and Drew danced around what are likely the actual answers behind the "why" to save face for Ubisoft.

After watching the interview, I think it comes down to authenticity.

Part of the reason why it feels like your brand has been successful (and the main reason I always catch the weekly show) is because you have proven over the years to be true to your own opinions. You aren't an industry mouthpiece.

Looking forward to it! Yours is probably the last big PoE 2 interview or content piece I watch before I unplug leading up to the 6th. Can only do the first playthrough once after all.

Good luck! (but I don't think you'll need it)

Only halfway through the podcast video but I'm digging it and I think you've definitely improved as an interviewer even compared to some of the podcasts and interviews from earlier this year. Looking forward to the talk you do with Jonathan soon!

As a Colts fan I'm expecting the Lions to put us through a wood chipper. Anything better than that is a happy surprise.
