As Churchill said, when you're going through hell, keep going.
We have a long four years ahead of us, we must not - we will not - give up the fight.
Just finished listening to @maddow.bsky.social podcast Burn Notice. The government corruption and hatred enabling 120K Japanese (including many US citizens) to be rounded up is sickening. What's more sickening are the parallels to what is happening here today. We have learned nothing from the past.

So basically Trump is shifting money that was already allocated to our service members from one pocket to the other.
Trump will use military housing money for $1,776 Pentagon bonuses
The Trump administration will repurpose $2.6 billion in military housing assistance to pay $1,776 “warrior dividend” bonuses to service members, according to a senior administration official.

It's fine for @joekennedyiii.bsky.social to say that since the Kennedy Center was named by federal law, it can no sooner be renamed. But to Trump, the law (federal or otherwise) is meaningless. Is there any plan to take this to court?

From today's @bostonglobe.com
Trump's " tribute to past Presidents, good, bad and somewhere in the middle, who served our Country, and gave up so much in so doing.” Yet another waste of taxpayer dollars.

The new plaques were installed under the pictures that make up Trump’s so-called “Presidential Wall of Fame.”

Where's the tariff money? Maybe check Trump's pockets.
So… he’s giving them their own money?

No wonder this genius didn't take his own SATs. He would have for sure bombed out on the math.
LOLLL Trump claims he’s cutting drug prices by 600 percent, which is not possible

It's no coincidence that Trump is planning "address the nation" tonight. This is his MO - flood the zone, and deflect.
AOC:

“Reminder that the Epstein Files are supposed to be released on Friday and every political development that you see between now until then should be viewed with that in mind.”

Someone should tell him that slapping his name on a building is not going to win him the Nobel Peace prize.
Seeing “Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace” shining while Congress struggles to prevent a war with Venezuela and investigators question whether his Caribbean strike was legal sums up the irony of a president meant to end wars but ready to start another.

In all fairness, Steven Miller is a white man that many of us would like to exclude.
🧵 NEW: Stephen Miller-backed group has filed a federal complaint against Penguin Random House over DEI. The complaint filed yesterday by the Miller-cofounded group, America First Legal, claims the publishing giant's diversity, equity & inclusion "policies appear to be designed to exclude white men."

Miriam Adelson should take some of that $250 million she's offering Trump to support a run for a third term, and invest it in taking an online course on the Constitution.

The Pulitzer Board is giving a master class in how to stand up to a bully.

ABC and CBS folded; hopefully, the BBC, Trump's latest target, will not.
The Pulitzer Board is actually fighting back against one of Trump’s vexatious lawsuits, saying, ‘If you were harmed, prove it — with medical and financial records.’

Not rolling over like some of the capitulating companies we’ve seen.

I can't stop thinking about the deaths of Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle. A terrible loss and an awful way to die.
But this just brought me to tears. Rob's dad Carl Reiner created the legendary Dick Van Dyke show. Carl named Dick's character Rob Petrie, which some say was a nod to his son Rob.

Trump is threatening to support primary challengers to Indiana GOP Senators who opposed redistricting. Apparently he has not yet gotten the message that in most cases, his endorsement appears to be worthless.

As my grandmother would have said: We should all live so long.
FOX: The president is coming up on a year in office. When can Americans expect to see their energy bills drop?

CHRIS WRIGHT: Very soon you'll see a stop in the rise in electricity prices, and with the continuation of Trump policies, you'll see declines in electricity prices later this term

Imagine if it was Biden or Obama attacking female journalists - there would be outrage.
THESE ATTACKS SHOULD NOT BE MET WITH SILENCE.
How far will he be allowed to go before someone - anyone challenges him? When will either the individual being attacked or a fellow journalist speak up?

The US Secretary of State is prioritizing focus on the font being used by the State Department. What could be more important?
With this kind of leadership, it's no wonder that we continue to hear reports of plummeting morale in the department.
Mr. Rubio said switching back to Times New Roman would “restore decorum and professionalism to the department’s written work.” Calibri is “informal” when compared to serif typefaces like Times New Roman and “clashes” with the department’s official letterhead. www.nytimes.com/2025/12/09/u...

The only way to combat a bully is to speak up. The longer female journalists remain silent when being attacked by Trump, the longer he will continue.
SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, please politely tell him that his language is inappropriate and unacceptable. His words are abusive and should not be tolerated.

A federal appeals court ruled last week that Alina Habba was unlawfully serving as a US attorney. Today she resigned.
It's almost a case of
"you're fired"
"you can't fire me, I resign".

Either way - good riddance.

"If you're a US citizen you have nothing to fear".
Unless of course, you're a brown or black skinned US citizen. Then you're fair game for ICE arrest. In 2025 at least 170 citizens have been detained or held by ICE.
BASH: The vast majority of Somalis in Minnesota are US citizens or legal residents. So why send ICE there?

HOMAN: There's a large illegal Somali community there. There's a large illegal alien community there. If you're a US citizen, you have nothing to fear.

We already know this.

Tell it to the Supreme Court; it appears that they don't have a strong familiarity with the Constitution.
The entire debate over birthright citizenship is anti-constitutional because the purpose, intent, and text of the 14th Amendment were designed to foreclose any argument about who counts as an American citizen.
