Practicing my quilting after fixing the longarm. I have also been calling my representatives to demand accountability... even if it doesn't help, it makes me feel like I'm doing something. Aarrrgghh! #quilting

I put the wrong sides of the hexies together and do a ladder stitch -starting in the middle, work to one side, then to the other, then back to the middle (double stitched).

Here is a hand-stitched #quilt I designed in 2010 and finished in 2012. I'm still amazed I actually finished it! There are 3,942 half-inch #EPP hexies that took me 18 months to #sew together. I used french-knots to quilt the dragon and a wood grain #quilting design in the background. #quiltsky
Wood Dragon by Gail Lizette Weiss - 2012. A quilt with a dragon motif made out of many small hexagons like pixels. The dragon has a cream colored body with red, orange, and yellow top scales, and green belly scales. The background of the quilt is made of brown and gold colors. The whole quilt has a dark brown border with one red horizontal stripe going across at the top and bottom. A photo of basted EPP (English Paper-Pieced) hexies next to a dime. These are from the Wood Dragon Quilt as it was in progress, and it shows some of the brown background, the green belly, and cream body hexies as they were being laid out. EPP is a sewing technique where you cover a paper template in fabric and baste it in place. This holds the fabric in place as you sew the pieces together. After sewing all the pieces together, the paper pieces are removed before quilting.

The very elusive Princess Leo 😻 She is one of the 7 feral cats we care for. She is definitely the most skiddish of the bunch, so it was nice to see her come into the garage for food. She's beautiful! #cats

It's really sunny out right now and it's making me happy! Here's one of my Hexie Hummingbird quilts. This project also makes me happy. I sold the first one I made, so I made another, this is No.2. The half inch hexies are appliquéd onto the background and is 100% hand-stitched. #epp #quilt #quiltsky
