Drawing musclechubs is different from drawing a hyper character because his proportions need to be fitted on a normal skeleton and pack as much mass you can without breaking it, and the additional challenge is how much muscle and how much fat to add to match the intention of what is portrayed (in this case, the client wanted Deep Dish, the koala, to be flexing his giant arms in some bodybuilder pose), and also to stay true to the character's initial design and shape. I tend to draw every character's body different just like how our bodies are different in real life, and there are plenty of choices that need to be made while constructing them, to be able to portray the kind of body i (and the client) want him to have. Another request was to give him big balls that dominated the package. The initial pose had much more of a V shaped, just like a lean bodybuilder, but then i had to add a big belly that can fit, but also not take over the focus of the entire piece. And i think a nice balance was struck between us having a good look at his face, display his big hair and locks, a nice sense of the mass in the chest, nice curve on the belly, and finally a big balls package that looks inviting.
