They are just happy to see the Trump coalition fight among themselves, while ignoring the victims. Just like they never attempted to do anything serious to solve this decades long problem when they were in power.

The moral thing would be to have wholesale changes to the H-1B program. To not allow businesses to exploit workers coming thru the program.
But is someone/anyone on the Dems side saying even that?

He's just defending a system that allows businesses like his to keep legal immigrants as pseudo bonded labor by giving them the hope of one day becoming full and equal citizens in a country they worked in and treated like their own for decades.

Well, I should probably say "...come out *looking like* they support legal immigrants...".
Even that is missing from the left.
As they say, in the land of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

The only people who've come out supporting legal immigrants in this episode are Musk/Ramaswamy and other of their ilk.
January 4, 2025 at 2:51 AM
Ironically, more legal immigrants under attack will come out of this episode supporting Musk and others who've been defending them more than they would be supporting the Dems.

None. Not a single one.
Similarly, most of the so-called libs on this site were more interested in enjoying the tiff between the anti-immigrant far right and Musk/Ramaswamy, than in speaking up for the H-1B workers.

Thank you for telling your family's story. The reality behind "Patels own motels across the US" and the blood, sweat and tears of a blue collar immigrant experience is not something that is heard about much. Specially by those of us lucky to immigrate here with advanced degrees or white collar jobs.

Even the spineless GOP leadership (McConnell, McCarthy, Graham) showed glimpses of a conscience for a hot second after J6!

This is not an original thought - but the Dems, specifically the Democratic leadership incld. Biden, deserve the blame here for failing to press home the revulsion towards Trump that J6 had created in the minds of most voters. They were too busy basking in their (well-deserved) win.

That "bhagona" brought back similar memories for me. Making Rasna on my birthday party between the ages of 6-10/11 and taking hours to dissolve the tons of sugar it needed, while my mom and neighborhood aunties made the rest of the spread. 😊

The details, at least as I remembered them, were slightly different, but the moral of the story - the love of a father for his son - was the same. Simpler times.
Hoping this becomes a series on the Mughal empire. Cheers!

Thanks for making this. Was looking for something like this list!
