I think this is a bit more “directed” than that. Albanese is at his core a decent human, and currently he’s just taking the hate directed his way, without stooping to the Ley / Lesser / Frydenberg (et al.) politicking. Only so much one can take. Bite back? Dead bat? Quit? Don’t envy the position.

Seeing people showing support at Bondi by wearing the Israeli flag shows how embedded the conflation of the Jewish diaspora and the state of Israel has become. Mourning the murder of 15 people while tacitly endorsing the genocide of 70,000 is deeply disturbing behaviour.
