To read and write #stac-geoparquet, you can use:

- The original reference implementation: github.com/stac-utils/s...
- A newer implementation with a lower-level API: github.com/stac-utils/r...

The tooling story is a little confusing, and we're working on it. See github.com/stac-utils/s... for more
Consolidating libraries · Issue #99 · stac-utils/stac-geoparquet
For better or for worse, I've sort-of-accidentally made an alternate stac-geoparquet reader and writer in rustac. I've got a short section on the differences between the two libraries, but tl;dr: I...

My optimistic take is that systems-level thinkers from other domains can learn how to build durability later-career, while bringing their domain expertise to the problem

Not sure though. Durability is hard, and often quite manual...

I think the primary use case would/should be data providers creating and statically serving stac-geoparquet

End users can use stac-geoparquet as a smaller, more useful export format (you can do this now in stac-map from a search) but this is a bit more niche

Frontend dev can be really frustrating, but it's fun to make a thing that you can play with

The best we can do is try to build real relationships, however we can.

That at least gives you something to fall back on when you get it wrong.

Recognizing the signs when a ✔️ isn't enough is hard. Sometimes I miss. I still don't have a formula to do it right, I feel like I'm constantly working on The Right Way

Which is kinda fun, in its own way
