If the easily accessible and free tools are almost completely useless/detrimental for students to use, and the useful tools are the $200 p/m ChatGPT models, then, unless all students are given equitable access to the best tools, only rich and privileged students will benefit. #GenAI #Equity
This, for me, is probably the greatest hurdle we face in Education with reagrds to LLMs and GenAI. It's not whether we should allow students to use these tools or not (of course we should), it's an issue around equity and access to these tools.
