For like, some really minor background assets, and they went on record stating they were temp assets meant to be removed before release, and they did replace them with actual assets made by a person, but...yeah, which then leads to the conundrum here

I spent like two months recommending E33 to everyone I know and even some people I didn't, now i look like a cocksucker and I cant get back the time I spent playing a game with gen AI assets in it!!! Do I kms or what???

Or do we, in the interest of nipping gen AI in the bud at every turn, treat both these instances, and all instances of it, the very same and say "fuck you" to all of them?
And what pray tell is my ass supposed to do when something like this happens to something I enjoyed???

On the other hand, how do we handle a situation like E33's? Gen AI is never acceptable, dont get me wrong, but if E33 says "we fucked up, those were temp assets, we've replaced them with the correct ones" is that more acceptable than Arc Raiders proudly using AI voices?

The awards dont matter. But because its An Awards Show they have weight to it regardless. Mostly to the industry bigwigs. If a game that used gen AI in even a small temporary part wins GOTY what does that tell the heads of the industry? How does that define what the consumers are willing to accept?
