After the announcement of the Meta Horizon Engine, I had to update my list of apps to experience #GaussianSplatting in #VR.

The level of polish and the number of functionalities in this #mixedreality app for #Quest caught me off guard. It takes courage to invest in such a niche experience and pour so much love into it. 

It's called Nailit!, it's free, and you should 100% try it.

I finally had the chance to play around with Hunyuan3D 2.1 and the image-to-3D is very accurate. The meshes are still in polygons and when it comes to textures there are better models out there in my opinion.

What is, at the moment, your favourite 3D model/tool out there?

Did you know that Horizon World also supports #MixedReality ?!?!

This might be the easiest way to deploy a bitesize MR social experience that does not take full advantage of the scene understanding BUT solely relies on gameplay around a table or centred anchor for all players.

This ball tracking demo, built by Christoph Spinger, takes advantage of the Quest camera API and is so far the most impressive implementation I have seen.

Tracking moving objects is extremely challenging and despite the 20ms delay, I can totally see some new use cases and gameplay emerging.
