most artists in america - myself included - rely on the ACA, which is under constant attack. no amount of kickstarter money is going to fix that. I don't really have a point to all of this except to say: fight for your unions. support indie art where you can. and, most of all, VOTE

Careful, careful - you're getting dangerously close to inventing audio drama

Oh, I see! Let me retract all of the above, real quick, I hadn't realized they were trying to push me into doing a different medium badly, that's a different story then 😂

If you need the podcasters to, essentially, still make the show without you, I think most of them are going to...
... and this might blow your mind, so please make sure you're sitting down...
... MAKE THE SHOW WITHOUT YOU!!!

And so going, "We're here to help... with everything EXCEPT for the thing you actually need help with," and then getting upset when nobody wants to take you up on your generous offers is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy, my guys.

Most of them do not need help getting connected to actors or musicians or technicians. Chances are they're excited to make art *with their friends*.
What fiction podcasters actually need help with - the thing that stops shows from being made - is lack of budget.
Budget to pay for all of the above.

I know I'm shouting into the void & preaching to the choir, but on the off-chance this bubbles up to right person:
Indie fiction creators do not need help distributing their shows. That's the *easy* part of podcasting.
They do not need help writing their shows. That's the *fun* part of podcasting.

I will say, I think the first four episodes are a great little set to marathon as the first movement in the story. (Call me biased, I know 😅)
So now’s a great time to jump in and give it a try!
