I buy stuff off Amazon more than I'd like to admit, so pretty familiar with their billion-dollar "shopping experience" and I can't say any of these would be the first thoughts to come to my mind about it assets.aboutamazon.com/2d/47/680122...

These measurements are stupid and clickbait at best. I still can’t believe their value is still a hill that people choose to die on. www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

The Brookly Democratic Party calls it "a transparent, efficient, and well-organized process." I'll give them two out of three there.

According to the Brooklyn Democratic Party, the 9 candidates were picked at the Marine Park Golf Course on August 7 at Judicial Convention with "over 200 attendees" and "nearly 150 delegates casting votes." That's "almost" a 17:1 delegate to candidate ratio!

Another example of how big cities often hate democracy: judicial elections. This year I was offered to the choice of nine candidates to fill nine judgeships. Not much of a choice!
I can however pick which party line (Democratic/Republican/Conservative) I prefer to vote for some of them.

Here's a NYT article from 1907 in which they demonstrated the "wireless telephone": "A HINT OF WHAT MAY BE ... By and By You Can Talk to Your Wife When She's on a Steamer Out at Sea"
(for a sense of how long ago this was: Teddy Roosevelt was President at the time)

And, of course, running the Reagan Foundation is basically a fundraising job (73.9% of its 2024 revenues came from donors), so whoever's in that job definitely does not want to get crosswise with Trump supporters.

Another claim for damages in this lawsuit (which demands $15 billion from the NYT) is that they did not speak to anyone else who booked Trump for his other entertainment roles, which were never mentioned in the story he’s suing over.

There is also a claim that an article about “The Apprentice” failed to “sufficiently pursue” a quote from Mark Burnett or “his original notes and records” as well as “other potential insiders.”

And, boy, what a doozy the lawyers came up with! For instance, at one point they want do away with the legal distinction between fact and opinion because opinions are simply a clever way to trick people into thinking they are facts in order to duck defamation liability.

In the two-way question, Cuomo is only getting 11.8% of Sliwa’s voters (a little over half of them) while 1.4% opt for Mamdani. But a healthy chunk 6.2% are simply not voting for anyone as the “other/don’t know” vote jumps from 8.5% to 14.7% in the two-way question.

In the three-way poll, Cuomo and Sliwa have a combined 48.3% more than. Hello, Mayor Cuomo, right? No.
In the unlikely event that Sliwa drops out and none of his voters vote for him anyway (he'll still be on the ballot), let’s follow where his 19.4% of votes goes.
