Last one on this-- the energy at today's #StopTheCuts March felt, to me, like a combination of righteous anger + joyful resistance. When people come together to *do things*, like today's March, it manifests something powerful. We'll need more of that in the long days ahead.

One of my favorite signs from #StopTheCuts march, made me laugh. This person marched w/ *thousands & thousand of people* w/a handmade sign that reads Someone Please Do Something. At least they showed up!! Other people are waiting for someone else to do something but won't march or join anything.

Some more signs from #StopTheCuts March today. Some People really went all out on their signs (not that these pictures are the best examples of that....).

The @katalcenter.bsky.social team was out today too, our members and staff formed a contingent that was more towards the middle of the March. The team led by @melaniedominguez.bsky.social made more than 1000 phone calls to turn people out for today. #StopTheCuts

Joining with other families, we marched with kiddos who chanted and carried signs and sang songs. Even in the back, it was so crowded that we often got separated from the larger group we started with. Also, marching w/kids is hilarious & SO FUN b/c they're so curious about all the signs and people!

The range of signs and people and issues were striking and fun and provocative. One guy had on a jacket with words stenciled on the back that read, My Grandpa Killed Nazis. #StopTheCuts

There were so many people at this #StopTheCuts march today. The crew I was with was toward the back. And even there, the energy was really high.
