My heart goes out to active grantees who have received cancellation notices, and to the young people working under some of those grants. I hope that someday soon we will build it all back up.

I don't really have adequate words for how sick this makes me. I think both UPMC and the grant indirects systems are broken, but a $100+ million cut to medical research in the city's largest employer will be immediately devastating.
